Summary
The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the inventory control department (inventory control, material handling, shipping and receiving) including personnel, controlled inventory locations and all record keeping/administrative functions in the ERP system. This position will ensure compliance with established internal control procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Oversees the material handling, inventory control, shipping and receiving functions.
· Maintains the accuracy of all inventory locations for the facility. Drives the root cause analysis of inaccuracies.
· Responsible for/performs the daily processing of inventory transactions in the JDE ERP system, including the posting/backflushing of FG, and the release/commitment of raw materials to production.
· Drive the implementation of new processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
· Creates and executes a cycle count schedule each year.
· Reviews work order completion variances for cost accounting.
· Ensures that all procedures in receiving, shipping and material handling are up to date, and followed.
· Oversees the maintenance of an accurate, up-to-date inventory control system in the ERP system ensuring material availability.
· Reviews and enters weekly/bi-weekly stock orders based on production planning.
· Maintains control of all inventory items (Raw, WIP, and FG).
· Backflushes orders as needed in JDE.
· Evaluates inventory needs and implements strategies to ensure those needs are met.
· Works with purchasing and planning/scheduling to determine current stock levels and ensure material availability.
· Works with planning/scheduling department to prioritize orders.
· Attends daily production meetings to identify current issues the inventory department can assist in correcting.
· Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
This position requires a High School Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree preferred. This position should have 4-5 years previous experience in inventory control and manufacturing execution in a manufacturing environment. Experience with Lean Manufacturing a plus. APICS certification preferred.
· Must have an advanced understanding of Tier 1 ERP systems( JDE preferred) for material tracking; includes intermediate computer skills.
· Must be able to reconcile stock counts to report data.
· Must have advanced knowledge of blueprints and work instructions.
· Must have knowledge of materials and material requirements as they relate to work orders.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization both written and verbal.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio etc.
· Must have a high level of attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills.
· Must have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work in a team environment.
· Must have database management skills
This position is located in a manufacturing facility which requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, squatting, twisting, and bending. This position will spend about 95% of their time on the production floor where heavy machinery is present and loud sounds exist. Requires lifting up to 50 lbs. Requires manual dexterity for typing and considerable time at a computer.
