Crib Assistant
POSITION
SUMMARY:
Receives, stores and issues hand tools, machine tools, tooling, dies, fixtures,
materials, and equipment to machine operators and others.
ESSENTIAL
JOB FUNCTIONS:
The successful candidate will be mechanically inclined and comfortable working
in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will also
be able or be willing to learn the following:
- Maintain
records of tools and equipment issued and returned, manually or
using computer
- Locate
lost or misplaced tools and equipment / Delivers tools or equipment to
workers
- Assist
in preparing periodic inventory and/or maintaining perpetual inventory of
items
- Suggests
purchases of items to replenish inventory to Tool Crib Supervisor
- Inspects
and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear
- Track
and replenish Kanban inventories for parts on a regular basis
- Understand
and determine the uses for individual cutting tools
- Fulfill
any other tasks or duties that would be assigned from time to time
JOB
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High
School, vocational education, and/or suitable work experience
- Language
Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents as well as
prepare written reports
- Math
Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with
numbers, fractions and decimals
- Computer
Ability: Some required; basic understanding of Excel
preferred
- Physical
Demands: Push, pull, reach overhead and/or exert 10 to 25 pounds of
force routinely
- Hearing
and Speaking Ability: Ability to understand and be understood
- Working
Conditions: Occasional high noise levels from operating machine
This
is a full-time, Monday thru Friday, day shift position with Company’s standard
compensation package. Overtime and other tasks may be necessary and
assigned as determined by Tool Crib Supervisor or Shift Supervisor.
