General Summary
The Material Handler loads and unloads trucks, distributes incoming materials, facilities movement of raw materials, components and finished goods and provides material movement support to Manufacturing and Packaging as needed.
Essential Duties
Obtains requested materials for all departments. Complete the appropriate transactions utilizing computerized scanning devices, when appropriate, to document the movement of those materials.
Transports raw materials, components, and finished goods to their appropriate destinations in a timely and safe manner.
Communicates and prioritizes the schedule with the manufacturing and packaging leads daily.
Performs put-away and delivery of materials to the proper destinations or devices when necessary to document the movement of those materials. Preps materials for use including: stacking and unstacking pallets and staging materials for the next production run. Returns empty drums to storage.
Assists with incoming receiving shipments. Helps check for damages and/or shortages, completes appropriate records and enters the inventoried receipts into the computer system.
Secures loads for shipment and loads trucks. Unloads, inspects and signs for inbound shipments.
Operates various types of powered and manual material handling equipment in performing warehouse functions. Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Performs other tasks as assigned by department management.
A High school diploma or equivalent is required. 2+ years material handling, movement or production experience required. Experience in the operation of manual, mechanical and automated material handling equipment preferred. Basic computer skills required. Experience with RF scanning and SAP desired.
Certifications / Licenses
Certification in forklift operation required (certification completed onsite).
Other Knowledge and Skills
Ability to multitask. Previous experience with inventory management. Ability to research and problem solve.
