Field Tech Operator [Archived] - Berthoud, CO

Primary Objective:


To perform services related to the Construction and Completion of Proprietary Oilfield Secondary Containment Systems by learning and following all Safety Requirements, Best Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.

 

Major Functions and Scope:

 

Employee may  be on Preparation or Applicator Crew

 

Containment Preparation:


30% - DOT Travel – Travel to and from the job site.  CDL is required to drive the truck.

 




60% - Preparation of Secondary Containments.

·          Square off and mark post locations using mathematic formulas.

·          Operate skid steer with auger attachment to drill post holes.

·          Insert and level posts using leveling equipment. Lifting Requirements (10- to 30lbs).

·          Set posts using concrete and dirt. Lifting Requirements (60- to 80lbs).

·          Install galvanized metal wall sections. Lifting Requirements (40- to 100lbs).

 

10% - Various tasks – May include assisting Technical Applicator with manual, skilled and/or unskilled tasks depending on operational needs or requirements.

 

 

 

Knowledge, Experience, Competencies and Supervision:

 

** The preparation process is labor intensive and requires some heavy lifting. Tools that are used for this process may include but are not limited to: Skid steer, posthole digger, rock bar, shovel, rake and various hand tools. Daily work hours vary on average from 8 to 14 hours depending on the job. The ability to learn and apply proper practices by following safe work practices, standard operating procedures and best practices are crucial to success. Multiple-day overnight travel is expected for some jobs.


Education and Knowledge: 

High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent 2 years of industry related work experience (experience as a temporary employee with Falcon does not count).

Current commercial driver’s license (CDL-A) required. Must be 21 or older in order to drive.


Experience: 

Construction and/or Coating experience a plus

Oil and gas experience a plus


Competencies:  .

This position is both mentally and physically demanding.  At times long hours are required. Should have intermediate to good English language communication skills, both written and verbal. Should have or be capable of learning leadership skills. Lifting requirements are up to 100 lbs. Walking/Standing/Bending requirements are approximately 70% and sitting approximately 30% of the time.
