Installer - 1st Shift [Archived] - Inver Grove Heights, MN

Shift:1^st shift / Monday – Friday / 9AM - 5:30PM with some OT (not unusual)

Pay: $15.00

Job Summary: Theprimary responsibility is to install commercial anddomestic washers and dryers in apartment complex laundry rooms/apartments inaddition to college residence halls, laundry mats and On-Premise laundryfacilities. The process will include refurbishing used equipment or uncratingbrand-new machines, preparing the machines, delivery and installation. the Installer will install home appliances withone of the other installers.

Doing so ina timely and professional manner is expected. Also, equipment should lookappealing when finished installing; therefore, using hand tools to levelmachines, adjust doors, etc. is necessary. Plumbing tools are necessary aswell, in order to connect water pipes to washing machines. When finishedinstalling, it is essential to observe the complete cycle of the automaticwashers and dryers and make proper adjustments to meet standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform all duties as assigned by manager/supervisor
• Refurbishing used laundry equipment
• Loading and unloading laundry equipment from a box truck
• Installing laundry equipment to meet specific standards

·        Accurately completeinstallation paperwork

·        Maintain and account forall keys, tools, equipment, and materials

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understand and obey all Standard Operating Procedures.
• Safety Protocol
  • Stop any observed unsafe acts, and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
  • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
  • Support safety policies and programs.

Qualifications:

To perform this jobsuccessfully, an individual must have basic mechanical, problem solving, andoral/written communication skills. A technician must have the discipline towork with little supervision and ability to handle several projectssimultaneously. Computer experience including the use of e-mail, internet,ability to navigate a parts lookup software package and general ability to readdiagrams.  The individual must be able tolift machines, with a dolly, lift and carry up to 100lbs without the assistanceof another person and be able to stand/sit for most of an eight-hour shift.  Position requires occasional overnighttravel, must be able to pass a drug test, have a good driving record anddependable transportation to and from work frequent lifting, walking, bending,twisting, reaching, squatting, and driving. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilitiesto perform the essential functions.

Education Required:

·        Graduation from High School isrequired.

Experience Required:

·        1 year of field experience in thelaundry business, or previous electrical, mechanical experience/educationpreferred.

Applicants must either have or be willing to obtain a General DOT card.

Applicants must be willing to undergo an MVR, criminal background check, e-verify, DOT drug test and credit check.
