Position Scope:
Provides multi-disciplinary
expertise in the maintenance, trouble shooting, calibration and repair of a
wide variety of manufacturing and building equipment. Uses a wide variety of
tools, maintains records of work performed, parts used, and time spent in
performing work. Works with little supervision in a commercial/light industrial
manufacturing environment.
We are looking for an experienced
maintenance technician with expertise in Electrical, Controls, and PLC.
Position Responsibilities:
- Works closely with manufacturing and process groups to
ensure correct operation of manufacturing equipment to achieve uptime and
operational goals.
- Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on
manufacturing and building equipment to include plastic dispensing
machines, hydraulic presses, and support equipment.
- Documents and maintains records of preventative and
unscheduled equipment maintenance using CMMS maintenance software. To
include documentation of parts, labor, and equipment downtime.
- Performs start-up, rework and or modifications to bring
new equipment online as well as existing equipment up to date.
- Performs facility/building maintenance to include plant
and exterior housekeeping on an as needed basis.
- Maybe required to fabricate basic jigs and fixtures for
production equipment.
- Maybe required to participate in design of new setup of
equipment for existing work cells.
- Maybe required for maintenance support of the operation
on an as needed basis during non-shift hours using an on-call process.
- Maybe required to provide technical training for
company personal in areas of building and manufacturing equipment.
- Maybe required to provide training for new company personal
during orientation.
- Reports any safety concerns to the maintenance
supervisor.
- Maybe required to perform additional duties as assigned
by the department supervisor.
- Adheres to all company policies and safety regulations.
Preferred Skills and knowledge:
- 5-7 years’ experience working in a plastics
manufacturing environment with experience maintaining plastic dispensing
machines, hydraulic presses, and support equipment preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of plastic injection
molding equipment function, operation, and control to include start up,
shut down and production change overs.
- Experience with complex electrical control systems to
include Siemens, Allen Bradley and Direct Logic PLC architecture
preferred.
- Experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
to include troubleshooting complex control systems and personal safety
devices i.e. light curtains and associated control systems.
- Experience working with all aspects of facilities
support equipment to include HVAC package units, chilled water loops, and
general exhaust systems.
- Experience in installation of electrical piping systems
to include installing EMT/GRC and associated wiring preferred.
- Experience in installation of mechanical piping systems
to include installing SCH40 & SCH80 PVC for water systems and metal
piping/hose for hydraulic systems preferred.
- Previous experience working in a cloud-based CMMS
maintenance system. Experience with working with the Asset Essentials –
Dude Solutions system preferred.
- Works with Environmental, Health, and Safety personnel
to develop and maintain equipment safety procedures and practices.
- Electrical, Controls, and PLC experience preferred.
Required Skills and knowledge:
Education:
- High school diploma.
- 2-year associate degree preferred.
- Electrical license a plus
Required Specific skills and
knowledge:
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Must be PC proficient ability to work with MS Office
Suite.
- Ability to use electrical test meters, calibration meters/devices,
measuring devices such as calipers and electrical/mechanical prints.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both
verbal and written form.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral
instructions.
- Ability to stand, stoop, kneel or sit for long periods
of time.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a
collaborative, team-based work environment.
- Must be willing to perform other duties as requested,
directed, or assigned
- Trained on Lockout Tagout procedures.
- Demonstrated experience learning new machines,
processes, and procedures.
- Willing to follow all safety policies and programs.
Specific physical demands include:
Must be able to work in a hot
environment (80-100 degrees F)
Stand or Sit:
Must be able to sit/stand in a
relatively stationary position 75 percent of the time.
Walk:
The person in this position needs to
occasionally move about inside the office and warehouse to access file
cabinets, materials, machinery, etc.; as well as, attend meetings; or discuss
business issues with other departments; includes occasional use of stairs.
Use hands/fingers to handle or feel:
Occasionally required to use a
computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., a calculator, copy machine,
and computer printer). Includes repetitious typing.
Must be able to use fingers/hands to
perform assembly of small parts, as well as be able to glue parts together
firmly. Must have good manual dexterity. Involves repetitious motion and
ability to grasp parts/tools for extended period of time; may include handling
of fiberglass rods.
Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance:
Occasionally ascends/descends steps
or uses a ladder for purposes of getting parts/product off a shelf.
Stoop, Kneel, Crouch, or Crawl:
Occasionally required to stoop,
kneel, crouch.
Talk/Hear:
The person in this position
frequently communicates with customers/employees/vendors and must be able to
exchange accurate information in these situations, which requires the ability
to talk and hear.
See:
Constantly looks upon a computer
screen/monitor within close proximity 1-2 feet for purposes of preparing
documentation, contracts, e-mail correspondence, etc. Must be able to see raw
materials and parts for safe assembly/production.
Carry Weight, Lift:
Regularly required to
lift/carry/move supplies/parts/products greater than 25-pounds during
production; or storing product in inventory.
