Seeking an additional Maintenance Technician for
our client, a top manufacturer of made-to-order architectural doors. Successful
candidates will be responsible for keeping operations running safely and
smoothly through quality repairs and preventative maintenance of manufacturing
and facility related equipment.
Job Duties
· Ensures safe and reliable operation of manufacturing machinery by performing preventative maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveying systems and industrial woodworking machinery; using diagrams, sketches, operations and maintenance manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, engineering specifications and by troubleshooting malfunctions
· Locates the sources of problems by observing and measuring mechanical, electrical and pneumatic equipment during operation
· Removes defective parts through disassembly of machinery using hand and power tools
· Use of measurement devices, hand tools, levels, plumb bobs and straight edges to determine any changes in dimensional constraints
· Is focused on up-time, and coordinates with production operators to minimize the impact of scheduled preventative maintenance on day-to-day activities. Remains conscientious of waste, and uses only necessary equipment and supplies
· Communicates mechanical problems clearly and with a high level of detail, both through verbal interactions as well as written
· Relays pertinent information about activities at the plant to the other shifts with a high level of detail
· Documents and communicates actions, irregularities and continuing needs of the work groups
· Participates in capital projects, to include equipment installation and relocation
· Focuses on continuous improvement. Notices and suggests improvements to equipment, facilities and processes
· Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
· Must be able to take ownership of certain pieces of production equipment and be able to work with little oversight to keep the equipment running reliably
· Previous industrial maintenance work experience a plus, although candidates with specific training in applicable skills will be considered in lieu of experience
· Good general problem-solving skills
· Good communication skills
· Computer literate, knowledge of Microsoft office
· Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted

Education/Training
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Must have valid driver’s license
· Additional consideration will be given to candidates possessing knowledge or certification in:
· Pneumatics
· Certified Industrial Electrician
· PLC Troubleshooting/Programming certification/experience
· 5S/Kaizen/Lean Manufacturing Projects
